why does the player install fail with the message "Insufficient space?"

The digitalphono music player is installed using the InstallShield application. This application requires some temporary space in which to do its work.

"Insufficient space" is encountered when:

You do not have 500 Kbytes of free space in your TEMP directory.

The solution is to ensure that TEMP is properly defined and that 500 Kbytes of space are free on that device.

TEMP is an environment variable used by many applications (in this case, the InstallShield application). You can observe its value by opening a DOS window and typing the command SET. If TEMP is ill-defined, then you must re-SET it:

(Windows 95): edit c:\autoexec.bat, save and reboot
(Windows NT):

Typical TEMP values are C:\TMP or C:\TEMP.
