Troubleshooting

If you already downloaded the digitalphono music player setup file Setup_dpc_102.exe, and the system status box says that the player is not installed, perhaps you didn't execute the setup file. Check here for instructions. 

If you've already downloaded and installed the digitalphono music player setup file            Setup_dpc_102.exe, and you're using a Netscape browser, close all of  your Netscape windows, restart Netscape, and try again.

Your system must meet all of the following minimum requirements to support the digitalphono music player. 

• 100 Mhz Pentium 
• 16 MB RAM    
• Microsoft Windows 95, NT 3.51, NT 4.0 

If you want us to notify you when a new player becomes available for your operating system, send email with the subject entitled "Notify UNIX" to webmaster@digitalphono.com

• Sound Blaster compatible sound card (16 bit or better) 

2 MB available disk space

Click on the Help->About tab on your browser menu to ensure that your browser meets the digitalphono music player needs:
 

• Netscape Navigator 3.03 or newer 
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or newer 
• America Online 3.0 or newer (32 bit version only)

You can download new versions of these browsers from:

If you are using a Netscape browser you should check that the Netscape proxy settings match the proxy settings in the Internet Control Panel application. Typically the settings conflict, which causes problems when downloading digitalphono music songs.

If you use a Netscape browser you will be prompted to bookmark your entry and exit Netscape while our installation updates your browser settings. You must exit and restart Netscape after installing the digitalphono music player to ensure that your browser File Types are properly set.

IMPORTANT:

Your digitalphono music player must be fully downloaded and installed correctly before you can successfully download our digital music.

• player size

The digitalphono music player setup file, Setup_dpc_102.exe is size is 2.02 MB (2,121,725) bytes. Setup_dpc_102_nt351.exe is size is 2.06 MB (2,162,637) bytes. If your downloaded file is not this size then you should re-download the player setup file. 

• player install

You can install the player by double-clicking on the Setup_dpc_102.exe or Setup_dpc_102_nt351.exe file. It will self-install with a few answers from you. 

• file types

Our install program adds the MED file type to your system so that your browser will automatically invoke the digitalphono music software to download digital music. Please ensure that this file type is defined on your system. See the FileTypes page for illustrated instructions.

You can't run the digitalphono music player install program without some free disk space. See the disk space page for more details.
