The a2b music platform uses both keys and licenses to protect both you, the customer, and the songs you download. Song keys and song licenses are generated to ensure that your music purchase is secured uniquely to you.

Every song on our website has a unique song key which distinguishes it from all other songs. When you order a song, a unique key is generated for you, based upon the song key and your digital signature. This key is used during the encryption process and provided to you for decryption. You now have what you need for the player to decrypt any song file you download from a2b music.

Without a song license however, your player will not play a chosen song. A song license is generated for you when you purchase each song, incorporating your digital signature. When you push the Play button on the player, it first checks your song license against your digital signature and proceeds only on a match. The player then reads your compressed and encrypted song file and sends it to your PC's audio device.

This means that you cannot purchase songs for others to play - they are for you alone. Songs you download to a PC can be played on that PC only.
